Professor Katarzyna Antosz (ORCID: 0000-0001-6048-5220) is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Manufacturing Processes and Production Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics at Rzeszów University of Technology in Poland. She holds M.Sc. (2001), Ph.D. (2007) and D.Sc. (2019) degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Antosz is a member of the Committee on Production Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Lean Learning Academy Polska, the Polish Production Management Association, the Association of Engineering, Project and Production Management (EPPM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Professor Antosz serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) and as a co-editor of books and special issues in scientific journals. Professor Antosz has presented keynote lectures at a number of international conferences, including those held in China, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, Thailand and India. She has also delivered lectures as part of the Erasmus programme and participated in study visits to universities and industrial companies in Norway, Japan, Portugal, Slovakia, Italy, Romania and Belgium. She has assumed a variety of roles, including principal investigator, supervisor and team member, in national and international EU-funded projects, as well as projects implemented with industry. Her professional interests, research topics and international collaborations are centred on production engineering, systems reliability, predictive and lean maintenance, Six Sigma and intelligent decision support systems. Her particular areas of expertise include machine-learning methods and fuzzy logic for the modelling, assessment, and enhancement of processes. Furthermore, she has expertise in the development and implementation of expert systems, as well as the leadership of Six Sigma projects from problem definition through to sustained control. She has authored over 120 scientific publications, including monographs, journal articles, and peer-reviewed conference papers.
